Description

Having grown up in New England, Dunkin’ Donuts was great Monday through Friday. After moving to Colombia and discovering coffee farms, I soon became enamored with the history and versatility of one of the world’s most popular drinks.  This is why we decided to put together this Medellín Coffee Tour.

On this tour, we will visit a small coffee farm where this family has known nothing but coffee for generations. We will learn the history, pick the right beans, and learn about the process that goes into your morning cup. Learn about altitudes, different types of beans, and learn to differentiate flavors.

The Itinerary

The tour begins at about 9 am, when a bilingual guide and driver will pick your group up at your hotel or Airbnb. This private tour starts with a 1-2 hour drive to a town located just outside the city. Once we arrive at the farm and greetings are exchanged, you will put on some proper coffee picking apparel while the host goes through the history of coffee in Colombia. Wear plenty of sunblocks because a day out with us for this Tour will quickly have you leaving with the infamous farmers’ tan.

Once the coffee picking comes to an end, and you visit the multiple stages of picking and roasting coffee beans, we’ll bring you over to the kitchen where cupping will be in order.

The Medellín Coffee Tour is reserved for groups that truly appreciate history and culture out in rural Medellín. Some groups can be disrespectful towards some coffee elders. Please be sure this is the type of daytime activity in Medellín for your group.

Our tour includes

  • Round trip transportation
  • English speaking guide
